You are unlikely to secure Legal Aid for the following driving offences:
- Driving a vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohols/drugs
- Failing to provide a specimen of breath, blood or urine
- Careless driving
- Exceeding a speeding limit
- Failing to stop after/ failing to report an accident
- Failing to identify driver
- Driving without a valid license
- Using a vehicle without insurance
For offences such as these, our hourly rates are £200 per hour
However, in some cases we are able to offer a fixed fee service but this is subject to an initial analysis of your case to consider the following:
- Evidence
- Your likely plea
- Advise on the options available to the Court in relation to sentencing
- Where appropriate, advice on whether an exceptional hardship, or special reasons argument should me made
If your case is suitable for a fixed fee, our fixed fees for summary only motoring offences are as follows:
- Initial hearing – £300 + VAT subject to Court being within 15 miles of our Office
- Should further work be required we will advise you accordingly in relation to fixed fees and hourly fees
